Invasion Description
Type Locality- Long Branch/NJ/Atlantic Ocean (1837, Williams 1984, Homarus americanus is common and native in northern shallow and deeper, cooler southern Continental Shelf waters of the region.) At least two unsuccessful attempts were made to introduce it to inner Chesapeake Bay: Back River Light, Norfolk/VA/Hampton Roads (1884, Baird 1887, 63 lobsters stocked); 'ripraps'/VA/Chespeake Bay (1885, Barid 1888, 100 lobsters stocked)
