Invasion Description

1st Established Record: South Africa/Alexander Bay, breeding in enclosed oyster dams (2007, Griffiths et al. 2009).

1st Record: South Africa/Knysna Estuary (1946, Haupt et al. 2010, not established). Populations were seen in Saldanha Bay and St Helena Bay in the 1980s and 90s, but apparently did not persist.
