Invasion Description

1st record: Fort Macon/NC/Pamlico Sound (Coues 1871; cited by Porter 1974); Atlantic Coast south of Chesapeake Bay- Ischadium recurvum was reported to occur from East Florida to Georgia by Dall (1889), and from Fort Macon, NC (Coues 1871; cited by Porter 1974). Early historical and archaeological data from this region is needed to determine the history of I. recurvum, but here we presume it to be native to the region.
