Invasion Description

1st Record? Valdez/AK/Prince William Sound (1972, Hines et al. 2000)

We have regarded populations of H. filiformis in Prince William Sound as introduced, probably by shipping traffic. They were found near Valdez in 1971-1972. However, occurrences in deeper Bering Sea waters and Kodiak Island may represent a native sibling species of this worm.
