1st Record? Albermare region NC/Albemarle tributaries (Smith 1907, 'often sought by anglers') Menhennick et al. (1976) considered it possibly introduced to the Neuse, Tar and Roanoke drainages. Smiith (1907) makes no mention of introductions in North Carolina, although as a commissioner of the US Fish Commission, he supervised many of them
