Invasion Description

1st Record: Captiva Island/FL/Charlotte Harbor-Gulf of Mexico (USNM 11851, US National Museum of Natural History 2010, Osburn 1940; Gordon et al. 2006). 'Of course, it is also possible that M. tubigera may not be native to Puerto Rico, or the southern U.S., given that it is not known prior to the 1940s and congeneric species are east Asian.' (Gordon et al. 2006)
