Invasion Description

1st Record: CA/South and Central San Francisco Bay; (1993, Cohen and Carlton 1995)

Three museum records, identifed as Paranthura japonica from Pacific Grove. Monterey Bay, collected in 1930-1943, may refer to the native P. elegans, not described until 1951 (USNM 63778, USNM 63779, USNM 86338, U.S. National Museum of Natural History 2015).
