Belonesox belizanus (Pike Killifish) is native to fresh, brackish, and marine waters from Veracruz, Mexico, to northern Costa Rica, in Atlantic drainages. It is a small but agressvue predatory live-bearing fish. It is native to tropical coastal fresh, brackish, and marine waters, at salinities of 0 to 50 PSU. The Pike Killifish was introduced to southern Florida, with multiple releases by tropical fish growers and hobbyists, and, possibly, as a release from a scientific project. Females reach 150-300 mm, while males are smaller, to 110 mm. As an aquarium fish, it has an interesting appearance, but quickly outwears its welcome by eating its tankmates, leading to numerous releases. Climate change may be leading to northward range extensions in Florida, and occurs on the Gulf Coast north to Tampa Bay,
