Stirkia sinicola (formerly Ceramium sinicola) is a small (less than 30 mm) epiphytic red alga, growing on intertidal turf algae. It has a bushy form with tapering branches toward the tip. Its native range is from the Pacific coast of Mexico to southern California, but in 1998, it was discovered in Prince William Sound, Alaska, growing on a possibly native form of Codium fragile, and on the cryptogenic brown seaweed Demaraeaea attenuata. Ballast water and hull fouling are the likeliest vectors.
