Ligictaluridus pricei is a monogenean trematode, parasitizing the gills of freshwater fishes, primarily catfishes of the family Ictaluridae. Frequent hosts are White Catfish (Ameiurus catus), Brown Bullhead (A. nebulosus( and Channel Catfish (Ictalurus punctatus). It was described from Oneida Lake, Syracuse, New York, and has been collected in four of the Great Lakes, from Florida, North Carolina, and North Dakota. It was collected (as Cleiodiscus pricei) in 1973 in a survey of fish parasites at the Tracy Pumping Plant in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This parasite was found on the gills of White Catfish, Black Bullhead (Warmouth, Lepomis gulosus , and Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis). Ligictaluridus pricei was introduced to Italy, Bulgaria, Ukraine, China, and Japan with North Catfish. In Italy, it was introduced with Brown Bullheads and has spread to the native Wels Catfish (Silurus glanis).
