Invasion Description

1st record: Amsterdam/Netherlands/Zaan River (1932, Wolff 2005). Most occurrences are scattered in space and time, but established populations occur in thermal effuent areas in the Netherlands and Belgium (Wouters 2002; Wolff 2005; Kerckhof et al. 2007; Nehring and Van der Meer 2010)
