Invasion Description

Reports from the Gulf Coast that are identified as G. cf. tigrinus have small morphological differences from Atlantic specimens. However, LeCroy (2000) considers the Gulf amphipods to be a slightly different form of the same species (LeCroy 2000).

Geographic Extent

Hillsborough County/FL/Poley Creek (Tampa Bay tributary, Kelly et al. 2006a); Palm Beach/FL/Atlantc Ocean (Kelly et al. 2006b); Florida Panhandle to Barataria Bay/LA-FL/Gulf of Mexico estuaires (2000).
