Invasion Description

1st record: Le Havre/France/English Channel (1928, Bishop et al. 1957). In northern European waters, Balanus amphitrite is mostly confined to warm shallow waters near effluents.

Le Havre/France/English Channel (1928, Bishop et al. 1957); Sussex/England/Shoreham Harbor (English Channel) (Bishop 1950; Eno 1996); Scheveningen/Netherlands/North Sea (Wolf 1999);Oostende/ Belgium/North Sea (1952, Kerckhof and Cattrijsse 2003; Kerckhof et al. 2007); Ireland/Irish Sea (1966, not established, Minchin 2007); Norderney/Germany/North Sea (2002, Wiegemann 2008, 53°42.155'N, 7°09.781'E, 2 cyprids metamorphosing in flowing seawater system); on hulls of ships in drydocks/Scotland/North sea-Irish Sea (2009-2012, McCollin and Brown 2014)
