Ukraine/Sevastopol Bay, Black Sea (Temnykh and Nishida 2012; Altukhov, et al. 2014; Isiniblir et al. 2016); Ukraine/Black Sea (2012, Temnykh and Nishida 2012, 44°21'N, 33°05'E); Varna/Bulgaria/Bay of Varna & Bourgas Bay (9/2009, Mihneva and Stefanova 2013, rapid population increase by 9/2010; Ivanova et al. 2017); Yuzhnaya Ozerevka/Russia/Zeminoe Ozera (Snake Lake lagoon), Black Sea (2011, Selifnova 2015); Turkey/Sürmene Bay (2010, Yildiz et al. 2017, initially rare, abundant by 2013, 40.9555 N 40.2016 E); at 8 stations, Samsun-Bafra to Hopa/southeast Black Sea (by 2013, Yildiz et al. 2017, 41.7175 N 36.2505 E, 41.4738 N 41.3247 E); Romania and Bulgaria/Black Sea (Bancila et al. 2022)

Oithona davisae, from its appearance in 2000 to 2015 increased to greatly outnumber the native O. nana. It has greater fecundity, greate low salinity tolerance (3 vs. 10), and greater escape speed (Isinibilir et al. 2016).
