Start Point (Devon)/England/English Channel (1960, Blanchard 1997; Clark 2008); Falmouth (Cornwall)/England/English Channel (Blanchard 1997; 2010, 2013, Bishop et al. 2015b); to Land's End/England/English Channel; to mid-Wales/Irish Sea (Blanchard 1997; Hinz et al. 2011, increased abundance in surveys from 1958-1959, to 2006); Wales/Milford Haven Waterway (1953, Bohn et al. 2012, established, at northern limit in Wales; Bohn et al. 2015, well established); County Kerry/Ireland/Kilmakilloge Harbour (1959, Arnold 1960, not now established ion the West Coast of Ireland)

Extensive fouling of mussels and scallops occurs in estuaries of South Devon, England. Fouling can reduce mussel growth and also increases handling time to clean and sort catches (Clark 2008).
