Geographic Extent

Cape of Good Hope, South Africa/Southern Ocean (1885, Provan et al. 2008); Melkbos, or Melkbosstrand, just north of Cape Town)/South Africa/Atlantic Ocean (1937, as Codium fragile ssp. capensis Papenfuss type specimen, Provan et al. 2008). The range of C. fragile is unclear, because of confusion with presumed native strains (Mead et al. 2011b).
