Invasion Description

1st record: Coyote Point/CA/San Francisco Bay (1977, Silva 1979; Josselyn and West 1985, cited by Cohen and Carlton 1995) Rocky outer coast regions of the West Coast have apparently native Codium, known as C. f. subsp. californicum, which appear sto be distinct from the introduced C. fragile growing in San Francisco Bay (Silva 1979; Trowbridge 1998; Miller et al. 2011).
