Invasion Description

1st Record: Sao Miguel/Azores/Atlantic Ocean& Graciosa/Azores/Atlantic Ocean (2007, Wallenstein et al. 2011; cited by Micael et al. 2014; Chainho et al. 2015). Micael et al. and Chainho et al. (2015) set 1914 as the date, as G. doryphora, but the identity of this record is uncertain, due to confusion with native species. Definite introductions of G. turuturu in the Atlantic began in 1969.
