Type Locality: Between Cheston Point and Dutchman Point/MD/Rhode River, Chesapeake Bay (USNM 15225, US National Museum of Natural History 2010, found on a discarded Christmas tree)

Geographic Extent

Near Annapolis to the mouth of the Potomac/MD/Chesapeake Bay (Osburn 1944, on leaves of widgeon grass (Ruppia) as M. membranacea); Between Cheston Point and Dutchman Point/MD/Rhode River, Chesapeake Bay (USNM 15225, US National Museum of Natural History 2010, Found on a discarded Christmas tree); VA/Potomac River (Dudley, 1973, on oyster shells, as unidentified Membranipora sp.); Horsehard Rocks/VA/James River (Dudley 1973, as unidentified Membranipora sp.); James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF), Fort Eustace/VA/James River (2006, Davidson et al. 2010, on ship hulls)
