Invasion Description

1st Record: CA/Newport Bay (~1978, Leslie Harris, personal communication 2008- only one specimen seen). Only three specimens are definitely known from Southern California. This polychaete was reported by Kudenov and Harris (1995, cited by Lattig and Martin 2009) from surveys of the Santa Barbara basin, but these specimens were all juveniles, probably, belonging to another species (Lttig and Martin 2009; Leslie Harris, personal communication 2014).

Geographic Extent

CA/Newport Bay (~1978, Leslie Harris, personal communications 2008, 2014- only one specimen seen); Los Angeles/CA/Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbor (~ 1980, only one specimen seen, Leslie Harris, personal communication, 2014); Santa Catalina Island, Pinnacle Rock/CA/Pacific Ocean (12/11/2007, . as Haplosyllis sp., subtidal rock scraping of sponges, gorgonians, & bryozoans, 9 m, 11 Dec 2007. 'I later re-id'ed it as ohma & this was verified by Patricia Lattig'- Leslie Harris, personal communications 2014).
