Invasion Description

Note- The northwest Pacific, including Japan is suspected by some researchers as the native region of Didemnum sp. Similar Didemnum forms have been described from Japan and similar colonies have been photographed recently (Lambert 2009).

Misaki Marine Biological Station, Misaki,/Japan Sagami Bay (Aug 16, 2007., USGS Woods Hole Marine Science Center 2008. approx. 35 deg 09.46 min N, 139 deg 36.72 min E, Identified by G. Lambert, UW); : Kochi new port, Kochi Prefecture, Shikoku/Japan/Seto Inland Sea (2012-2015, Dias et al. 2015, dock, co-existing with D. perlucidum, 33º26?10?N, 133º26?36?E)
