1st record: CA/San Francisco Bay (1979, found in aquaria containing San Francisco Bay and Bodega Bay material; Rees 1982; Cohen and Carlton 1995). Rees (1982), Cohen and Carlton (1995) and Mills et al. (in Carlton 2007) consider it established in San Francisco Bay.
