Invasion Description

1st Estuarine Record: CA/Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (2002, Moyle and Randall 1999; Light et al. 2002)

1st Watershed Record: Sacramento County/CA/Sacramento River (before 1997, Dill and Cordon 1997). These were Alabama Spotted Bass (M. p. henshalli), which were first tocked on California in 1974. Plantings of the Northern Spotted Bass (M. p. punctulatus started in 1933, but these fish only became established in upland tributaries, such as the Feather and Cosumnes Rivers (Dill and Cordone 1997).
